EAU CLAIRE - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's second annual Spring Rec Fest has been scheduled for Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 in Owen Park. Food, music, entertainment and special events promise a day of fun.
Brats, hot dogs and soft drinks will be sold by Phi Beta Alpha and music will be provided by Let's Rock 'n' Roll DJ Service. The High and Mighty Jugglers Sports Club will perform and a dunk tank will be on site from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to benefit the Special Olympics.
Events scheduled for Friday, May 2 include the Early Birdie Golf Tournament at Mill Run Golf Course, 3905 Kane Road, Eau Claire. The tournament is open to UW-Eau Claire students, staff and faculty only, and the first tee time is 12:30 p.m. Participants should register in groups of four. The cost is $17 per golfer.
The Chippewa River Bike Tour will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2. The 24-mile tour is open to the public and will begin at the Owen Park Band Shelter, proceed to Caryville and return to Owen Park. The cost is $5 per biker.
Five events are scheduled for Saturday, May 3, including a Southbound Six Canoe Race which will cover a six mile stretch from Owen Park to the Hwy 85 wayside. Divisions include men, women and co-rec. The first heat begins at 9 a.m. and the last heat at 3 p.m. The race is open to UW-Eau Claire students, staff and faculty only and the cost is $12 per team.
A tennis tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Owen Park tennis courts. Men's singles, women's singles and mixed doubles will be offered and the cost is $5 per player. This tournament is open to UW-Eau Claire students, staff and faculty only.
The Three on Three Basketball Tournament will be an all-day event on Saturday at the Owen Park tennis courts. Men's and women's divisions will be offered and the tournament is open to UW-Eau Claire students, staff and faculty only. The cost is $12 per four player team.
The Walk/Run for Fun will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Owen Park Band Shelter. This event is open to the public and the cost is $5 per person.
The Four on Four Volleyball Tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in Owen Park. Men's, women's and co-rec divisions will be offered. There is a limit of six teams per division. This event is open to UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff only and the cost is $12 per team.
Alternate locations will be announced in the event of flooding or bad weather.

All participants must stop at the University Recreation Office, located in the Hilltop Center, to pre-pay for all events. Regular office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
