MAILED: April 1, 1997 EAU CLAIRE - The third annual Hmong National Conference will host the Pom Siab Hmoob Theatre from St. Paul, the only Hmong theatre troupe in the nation. The theatre will present "Hmong Tapestry: Voices From the Cloth" from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, in the Ballroom of the Ramada Inn and Conference Center in Eau Claire. The presentation is open to the public. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door. Hmong Tapestry is considered a basic course on Hmong history, beliefs and cultural issues, organizers say. Hmong Tapestry is intended to enrich conference participants' knowledge and broaden participants' view about Hmong. Conference participants will have the chance to meet the actors and actresses at this event. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension is among the sponsors of the conference. For more information about the conference or the theatre performance, call Mai Zong Vue, conference chair, at (608) 267-7838, or Meng Yang, conference staff, at (715) 836-2538.
