MAILED: April 17, 1997 EAU CLAIRE - Several events have been planned at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Week, April 21-24. Events are hosted by Students Empowering Women Against Violence and sponsored by Peer Health Educators. The Clothesline Project, a display of T-shirts decorated by victims of violence or their families, will be on display in the Willow Lounge of Davies Center Monday, April 21, through Wednesday, April 23. Anne McKinley, of the Bolton Refuge House, will speak about abusive relationships at noon Tuesday, April 22, in the Indian Head Room of Davies Center. A self-defense seminar will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the McPhee Physical Education Center, Room 101. The seminar instructor will teach a variety of basic skills against attack. The Take Back the Night Rally has been scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, on the Central Campus Mall. The rally will include speakers and performances by poets and musicians as well as a candlelight vigil. Participants also can speak out. The rally is open to the public. The rain site is the Council Fire Room in Davies Center. The UW-Eau Claire Peer Health Educators will present information and lead a discussion on issues related to abuse at noon Thursday, April 24, in the Indianhead Room of Davies Center.
