EAU CLAIRE -University Recreation at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will sponsor the fourth annual Southbound Six Canoe Race on Saturday, May 3.

The race consists of a six-mile stretch of the Chippewa River beginning at Owen Park and ending at the Highway 85 wayside. The race will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. with the final heat. Teams may choose the heat they wish to be in on a first-come, first-served basis. Prizes will be awarded winners in each division.

The cost is $12 per team with a limit of 50 teams. No refunds will be made.

Registration is located at Hilltop Recreation Center, with registration ending at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

Race divisions include men's, women's and co-rec. All canoeing equipment will be provided.
