MAILED: April 11, 1997 EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, April 14. All events are free and open to the public. MONDAY, APRIL 14: • Matthew Pierce, a senior music major from Mankato, Minn., will present a student cello recital at 8 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center. Pierce will perform pieces by J. S. Bach, Marcel Dick and Antonin Dvorak. He will be accompanied by Ann Gilbertson on piano. • There will be a Horn Studio Recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center. The ensemble will perform pieces by W. A. Mozart, Telemann, Franz Strauss, Bernhard Heiden and Giovanni Gabrieli. TUESDAY, APRIL 15: • Rebecca Wilkinson, a junior music major from Stanley, will present a student piano recital at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center. Wilkinson will perform "English Suite in A minor" by J. S. Bach, "Sonata in D major, Op. 28" by Ludwig van Beethoven and "Scherzo, Op. 6, No. 3" by Charles T. Griffes. THURSDAY, APRIL 17: • Heather Broadwater, a junior music major from Winona, Minn., will present a student soprano recital at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center. Broadwater will perform pieces by G. F. Handel, Vincenzo Bellini, Gustav Mahler, Gabriel Faure, John Corigliano and Charles Gounod. She will be accompanied by Barry Anderson on piano and assisted by Peggy Sutherland, soprano. -30-
