MAILED: March 20, 1997 EAU CLAIRE - Humorist James Finn Garner, author of the best-selling satire "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories," will speak at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Wednesday, April 16. The Forum will present the writer-performer at 7:30 p.m. in Schofield Auditorium. Garner continued his quest to liberate traditional stories from their unsound prejudices in his books "Once Upon a More Enlightened Time" and "Politically Correct Holiday Stories." Garner's first two books became immediate best sellers; "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories" spent nearly a year at or near the top of the New York Times Best Seller list. His new book, which will be published in April, is a re-telling of millennium stories, titled "Apocalypse Wow!" Tickets are $10 for the public; $8 for those age 62 and over, and UW-Eau Claire faculty/staff; OR $4 for those age 17 and under, and UW-Eau Claire students. Tickets are available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, and will be sold at the door. The Forum is made possible by student funds allocated by the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
