EAU CLAIRE - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Alumni Association will sponsor "Paris to the Pyrenees," a tour organized by Educational Tours.
The trip will be hosted by Dr. Gale Crouse, department chair of foreign languages at UW-Eau Claire. The trip will take travelers to five European cities July 21-30. The tour begins in Paris and will make stops in Cognac, Biarritz, Carcassonne and Barcelona. Also, the shrine at Lourdes is on the itinerary.
Cost is $1,791 for adults and $1,581 for students. The cost includes airfare, eight overnight stays in hotels, breakfasts, dinners and transfers. Travelers will embark on three sightseeing tours led by licensed guides and will visit seven special attractions. Throughout the trip, travelers will have the full-time service of a bilingual tour director.
In Paris, travelers will have the opportunity to visit the Louvre, Notre Dame and Versailles. Days four and five will be spent in central France where sightseers will visit the Chateau de Chenonceau and the Hennessy distillery in Cognac. Days six and seven will take vacationers to Biarritz where they can visit San Sebastian and St. Jean de Luz. The city of Carcassonne will be the stop on day eight and will include sightseeing of this restored medieval walled city. Day nine will be spent in Barcelona with a tour of the city, a visit to the Pueblo Espanol, and an optional Flamenco evening. Travelers will fly home from Barcelona.
