EAU CLAIRE -- Tickets to the 23rd annual Viennese Ball at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire have been sold out.

More than 2,000 patrons will attend the ball Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12.

Organized by a committee of university staff, students and community members, the event helps provide music scholarships and international study awards. The committee hopes to realize $22,000 this year from ticket sales and donations.

In 1988, the Viennese Ball at UW-Eau Claire was documented by the Vienna Tourist Board as the largest in the world outside Austria.
