EAU CLAIRE -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, March 3. All events are free and open to the public.
TUESDAY, MARCH 4:
- Rebecca Campbell, a junior music education major from Elk River, Minn., on clarinet and Molly Possehl, a junior music education major from Hudson, on flute will present a joint student recital at 5 p.m. in the Phillips Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center. They will perform pieces by Georg Telemann, Franz Schubert and Walter Piston. Possehl will perform pieces by Claude Debussy, Aaron Copland, Wilson Osborne and Alfred Reed. She will be accompanied by Lonna Possehl on piano. Campbell will perform a piece by Dmitri Shostakovich. She will be accompanied by Irina Goldenberg on piano.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5:
- Jerry Young, professor of music and theatre arts, will present a faculty tuba recital at 8 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Center. Young will perform pieces by Jan Krzywicki, Harri Wessman, Robert Chamberlin, Dmitri Shostakovich, Igor Rehkin and Alexander Tcherepnin. He will be accompanied by Barbara Young on piano.
SATURDAY, MARCH 8:
- The Indianhead Honor Band and Wind Clinic will be hosted by the wind and percussion faculty of the department of music and theatre arts. It will take place all day in the Fine Arts Center.
