EAU CLAIRE - Dr. Lucretia Mattson has been named the 1997 KPMG Peat Marwick Professor of Accountancy. This is the second time she has received the honor. Mattson, associate professor of accounting and finance, joined the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire faulty in 1975. She is a CPA and a Certified Financial Planner. She has an bachelor's degree in mathematics from Muskingum College in Ohio and a master's degree in accountancy from Utah State University. She took a leave of absence during the 1978-81 academic years to complete her doctorate at the University of Kentucky. In addition to her teaching duties at UW-Eau Claire, Mattson teaches three CPA review courses, works with tax clients, teaches in the UW-Eau Claire Entrepreneur Program, and is active in the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mattson has been a member of the board of directors of the WICPA and is currently a member of the WICPA Educational Foundation Board and chair of the WICPA Continuing Education Committee. She received the WICPA Spirit Award in 1995.
