EAU CLAIRE - The second annual Chippewa Valley Family Business Conference will be held Wednesday, March 12, at the Holiday Inn Downtown Convention Center in Eau Claire. The conference will feature keynote addresses by Craig Aronoff and John Ward. Aronoff is the founder and CEO of The Family Business Consulting Group Inc., a consulting firm whose clientele includes some of the most prominent family-owned firms in the world. Ward founded the Family Business Center at Loyola University-Chicago and is one of the preeminent researchers on family company continuity. Together, Aronoff and Ward write a feature column in the Nation's Business magazine, the most widely read family business column in the country. In addition to the keynote speeches, during the conference there will be six breakout sessions led by associates of The Family Business Consulting Group. Thomas "Jake" Leinenkugel, president of the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co., will give the luncheon presentation during the conference. He will provide a brief history of the company and comment on what it's like to be the fifth generation head of the brewery. A reception will follow the seminar to celebrate family businesses. Cost of the conference is $250 per person and $175 for each additional participant from the same family business. Program fees include instruction, materials, lunch, refreshments and the reception.
