EAU CLAIRE - Students in first through fifth grades with an interest in art will have the opportunity to enroll in the After School Art Program sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's College of Arts and Sciences Continuing Education and UW-Extension. The classes are designed to enrich art opportunities for students beyond what they receive in school. Class structure includes an introduction, demonstration and work time when students develop their own art work. Students participating in the classes will be introduced to art history, styles, design principles, elements and will experiment with various materials and themes throughout the classes. Classes meet for eight weeks on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays beginning Jan. 27 and ending March 20 at Immaculate Conception School. The courses are taught by certified art teachers. Classes are open to the public. The cost is $35-$45 for tuition and $10 for materials. To obtain a brochure listing the exact times, or to register for a class, contact La Vone Sneen at the UW-Extension office at (715) 836-2031.
