EAU CLAIRE — Members of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire football team will sponsor a special Kid's Night Out Friday, Dec. 17, as a show of support for teammate Carter Crotteau, whose father and brother were killed in the Nov. 21 Sawyer County shootings.
All proceeds from this Friday's Kid's Night Out will go to the relief fund established in Rice Lake, said Head Coach Todd Hoffner. The Kid's Night Out will take place from 6-10 p.m. in the McPhee Physical Education Center on upper campus.
The fun and safe activity is intended for children kindergarten through seventh-grade. It gives parents a chance to enjoy shopping, dinner out, a movie or a quiet evening at home while their children participate in various activities and games under the direction of Blugold players and coaches. Youngsters are encouraged to bring a swim suit. A concession stand is available.
Among the activities are basketball, swimming, relays, obstacle course, fitness area and videos.
The cost is $10 per child. Children will not be allowed to leave until picked up by a parent or guardian. A first responder will be on duty.
Advance registration is recommended but walk-in reservations will be accepted at the door. A registration form is available online.
For more information, contact Coach Todd Hoffner at (715) 836-3093.
