EAU CLAIRE — Six members of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team competed at the UW-Stout Holiday Tournament held Dec. 3-4 at the UW-Stout campus in Menomonie.

UW-Eau Claire placed second in the tournament overall. For a few of the students, this was their first tournament of the season.

Individual results for the tournament are as follows:

Senior Chris Conklin, Green Bay, placed first in prose speaking, second in dramatic interpretation and after-dinner speaking and third in informative speaking, which qualifies that event for the American Forensics Association tournament.

Sophomore Amy Oldakowski, Sobieski, placed first in communication analysis, which qualifies her for AFA in that event. She also placed sixth in impromptu speaking.

Freshman Hilary Rasmussen, Eau Claire, placed first in dramatic interpretation.

Junior Betsy Schroeder, Le Center, Minn., placed second in informative speaking.

Freshman Kayla Lorenzen, Colfax, placed fifth in after-dinner speaking, which qualifies her for the National Forensics Association tournament in that event.
