Three Regional Bands to be Featured at
UW-Eau Claire's 'Finals Fury' Rock Show

 MAILED:  Dec. 1, 2004

EAU CLAIRE - Regional rock acts Orestus, Vile Red and Gone Out Gone will create the "Finals Fury" rock show Friday, Dec. 10, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center. The show is open to all ages.

Orestus has an all-original sound covering a wide range of music, from throw-down moshing to softer rock tunes. Orestus has played a wide variety of local and regional venues, including Milwaukee's Summerjam. The group's sound has been compared to that of such hard-rock acts as Rage Against the Machine, Korn, Limp Bizkit and Primer 55.

Vile Red, a female-fronted melodic metal band influenced by old and Swedish metal, formed in June 2003. The mix of powerful driving riffs and intense female vocals displays the individual styles and influences of the four eclectic members, who have spent much of their time writing music.

Gone out Gone, a Twin Cities-based band, is best described as space rock. They deliver top-quality rock performances that soothe the aching id of the concert goer.

Tickets are $5 ($3 for UW-Eau Claire students) at the University Service Center in Davies Center's east lobby, and at the door. The show is open to all ages; proof of age is required for beer purchases.

Patrons may charge tickets to MasterCard or Visa when they order by phone. Call (715) 836-3727 - or, outside the immediate Eau Claire area, call toll-free (800) 949-UWEC. A $3 handling fee will be added to all telephone charge orders.

The concert is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
