Coalition of UW-Eau Claire Groups
Organize Nonpartisan Anti-War Protest

 MAILED:  Nov. 18, 2004

EAU CLAIRE — A coalition of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student and faculty/staff groups are organizing a nonpartisan nonviolent anti-war protest Nov. 22 in Eau Claire .

The protest will be held at the corner of Keith Street and Clairemont Avenue from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday.

The protest will include representatives from the Women in Black, the UW-Eau Claire chapter of Amnesty International, the Progressive Student Association and the Staff and Faculty for Peace and Justice. Other Eau Claire and surrounding area peace groups are joining the coalition.

Members of the public are welcome to participate in the protest, organizers said.

Because this is nonpartisan and nonviolent protest, organizers ask participants to not wear clothing or other items that suggest political party affiliation. Instead, participants are asked to bring signs or banners that support peace and justice and/or oppose the war. They should not bring signs or banners that attack any individual or political party.
