EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Nov. 22. All events are free and open to the public.
Monday, Nov. 22:
- Senior Philip Snyder, Hastings , Minn. , and sophomore David Yentsch, Owatonna , Minn. , will present a joint student trumpet recital at 5:00 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center . Junior Jessica Moebius, Rice Lake , will provide piano accompaniment. Snyder will perform "Sonata" by Jean Hubeau and "From the Shores of the Mighty Pacific" by Herbert L. Clarke. Yentsch will perform "Sonata" by Kent Kennan, and "Andante et Scherzo" by J.E. Barat. The two will conclude the concert with "Duet #5" by Allen Vizzuti.
Tuesday, Nov. 23:
- Junior Elizabeth Wilson, Plymouth , Minn. , will present a clarinet recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The program will begin with Duo for Clarinet and Piano by Norbert Burgmüller and continue with works by Muzio Clementi, Robert Schumann and V. Monti. The concert will conclude with "The Flight of the Bumble Bee" by Nicholas Rimsky-Korsakoff. Several students will assist Wilson on various pieces. Penelope Cecchini, professor emeritus of music, will provide piano accompaniment.
