Bestsellers Program Leads to Success
For Former University Bookstore Employees

 MAILED:  Nov. 3, 2004

EAU CLAIRE — A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire graduate who was part of the University Bookstore's management development program has advanced to a management position with Barnes & Noble College Booksellers.

Kristy Lee, a May 2004 graduate, began her position as assistant manager of the bookstore at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte on Nov. 1. She is the third Bestsellers program candidate from the UW-Eau Claire campus to be placed with Barnes & Noble.

Bestsellers is a nationwide management development program that offers Barnes & Noble student employees an opportunity to learn everything there is to know about running a college bookstore. The in-store on-the-job training includes merchandising, marketing and customer service. Candidates for the program are recruited by store managers, and upon successful completion of the Bestsellers program students are guaranteed offers for management positions with Barnes & Noble.

Two University Bookstore student employees, junior Tabitha Balczewski and senior Morgan Peters are currently part of the Bestsellers program. For more information about the program, contact Camille Weixel, (715) 836-2171, or visit the University Bookstore in Davies Center.

The University Bookstore operates as part of University Centers and Programs, a student services unit of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
