Supervisory Management Courses
Offered by UW-Eau Claire in November

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present several workshops from the Supervisory Management Certificate program in November. The workshops are designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners and may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements. The Supervisory Management Certificate program is co-sponsored by the Small Business Development Center, UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse and UW-Extension.

"Supervisory Management 2" — will be held Nov. 4-5 in Baldwin at the AmericInn. Topics include orienting people to the work unit, understanding communication behaviors, managing time, using delegation as a development tool, and maintaining a productive work group.

"Supervisory Management 3" — will be held Nov. 11-12 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics include establishing job expectations, effective coaching, critical coaching skills and practice coaching sessions.

"Maximizing Performance" — will be held Nov. 9-10 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center on the UW-La Crosse campus. Topics include creating an environment for excellence, fine-tuning coaching and goal-setting techniques, diagnosing performance problems, turning around undesirable behaviors, and rewarding desirable behaviors.

"Negotiation Skills" — will be held Nov. 17-18 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Participants will learn to reach satisfying agreements for both parties efficiently and to end negotiations amicably so that relationships between the parties are improved.

All workshops meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individual course fees are $425 per person and include lunch, breaks, materials and instruction. Group fee is $375 per person for three to five people from the same firm attending the same session and registering at the same time.
