EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire departments of economics and health care administration, along with the Center for Health and Aging Services Excellence, will present "Economic Impacts of an Aging Population on Our Health Care System" at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Plaza Hotel & Suites in Eau Claire.
Julie Sonier, assistant director of the Health Economics Program of the Minnesota Department of Health, will discuss the issues surrounding the aging population and health care, as well as the cost strains that are developing around the health care market. Jackie Pavelski, public affairs director from the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce, will provide an update on local health initiatives focusing on the regional health care crisis.
