Counseling Services to Offer
Five Groups for Fall Semester

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Counseling Services will offer five groups for the fall 2004 semester.
- Assertiveness Skills Group: 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 13-Nov. 17
This is a six-session small group that provides training in assertive social skills. Learn to express yourself and feel good about doing so, without hurting others in the process. Pete Chellman is the group facilitator.
- Coping with Depression: 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 19-Nov. 23
This is a six-session small support group that will focus on training for coping with depression and coping skills training. Dr. P.J. Kennedy is the group facilitator.
- Dissertation Support: dates and times determined by the schedules of members
This group is for those having a hard time finishing their dissertations with all of their other commitments. Dr. P.J. Kennedy is the group facilitator.
- First Offenders Alcohol Education Groups: These are offered on an as-needed basis. This program meets the requirements of the Eau Claire Courts' "First Time Offender" Program. Call or stop by the Counseling Services office for more information.
- LGBTQ Personal Growth Group: The LGBTQ Personal Growth Group will allow students to explore and discuss, in a safe and supportive environment, coming out; relationships with partners, friends and family; and just being a college student. For more information, or to sign up for a pre-registration appointment, contact Dr. Carol Schumacher, group facilitator, 836-5521.
