EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Sept. 13. All events are free and open to the public.
Thursday, Sept. 16:
- Saxophonist John Sampen and composer/engineer Mark Bunce will present a guest artist multi-media concert featuring live music, projected visuals, interactive electronics and theatrical activities at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. (See separate release for more detailed information.)
Sunday, Sept. 19:
- Professor of music Donald Patterson, an active soloist and chamber musician who has performed in Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and many parts of the United States, will present a faculty piano recital at 4 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The first half of the program will begin with J.S. Bach's Toccata in D Major, S. 912 and continue with Sonata in C Major, K. 279 by Mozart and Scherzo in e-flat minor, Op. 4 by Johannes Brahms. The second half of the recital will include Chopin's Seven Preludes from Op. 28, Anton Rubenstein's Two Etudes from Op. 23 and "La Chasse Au Lion" by Carl Kölling.
