UW-Eau Claire students will spend part of their Labor Day holiday volunteering at six Chippewa Valley organizations and/or project sites.
The "Labor of Love" event invites students to volunteer at project sites from 1-4 p.m. on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6. Students will meet at Towers Hall on upper campus and take buses to the project sites.
The project sites include Big Falls Recreation Area; Bolton Refuge House; Boys & Girls Club of Eau Claire; Chippewa River, parks and waterways; the Eau Claire County Humane Association; and the Montessori School.
Students will be involved with projects such as painting walls, sorting pantry items and cleaning up parks and recreation areas.
The projects at Big Falls and the Boys & Girls Club will likely provide the best opportunities for photos/video.
Paula Stuettgen is coordinating the "Labor of Love" event. For details about the event, you can reach Paula at (715) 836-4803 or stuettpj@uwec.edu.
