Summer commencement for more than 200 students will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, in Zorn Arena. There will be 178 students receiving bachelor's degrees and another 31 students receiving their master's degrees. Elizabeth Burmaster, superintendent of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, will give the commencement address during the ceremony. A reception for graduates and their families will begin immediately following the ceremony on the Central Campus Mall. The 525 students who make up the rosters of the 20 UW-Eau Claire Blugold varsity sports teams had a combined GPA of 3.02 for the 2003-04 academic year. Walter Craft will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, on the Central Campus Mall. The performance will be the last of the 2004 Summer Session Programs' Music on the Mall concert series.

Calendar Notes
The 2004 Summer Session will end this week at UW-Eau Claire. Faculty and staff will return to campus Monday, Aug. 23, for the start of the 2004-05 academic year. The first day of classes for the new academic year is Thursday, Sept. 2.
