He will be the band's general logistician, making sure things run smoothly and overseeing committees for properties management and attendance. His position also includes instructional responsibilities as needed.

Junior Phil Snyder, Hastings, Minn., will be the drill designer and instructor, assuming responsibility for creating drill and the visual design of the show. He also will oversee instruction to ensure that drill is taught correctly to all marchers.

Senior Jake Morris, Maple Grove, Minn., will be the horn line instructor. He will be responsible for warm-ups and rehearsing brass in large sections, coordinating all brass section leaders and overseeing horn and body carriage throughout the brass line.

Sophomore Chris Taylor, Black River Falls, will be the woodwind instructor. He will be responsible for warm-ups and rehearsing woodwinds in large sections, coordinating all woodwind section leaders and overseeing horn and body carriage through the woodwind line.

Senior Andrei Strizek, Sun Prairie, will serve as assistant to the director. He will be the teaching assistant for the marching band course and be in charge of marching fundamentals.

Dr. Randy Dickerson, assistant professor of music and theatre arts, directs the Blugold Marching Band, which he expects to number between 130 and 140 students this fall. The band has more than doubled in size over the past four years and is preparing for its busiest-ever season in 2004. Camp will begin Aug. 28, after which the band will perform at four Blugold football games, two parades, three invitational exhibitions, and a stage show. The band will be the featured exhibition group at the Music Along the Chippewa Marching Festival in Chippewa Falls. The highlight of the season will be on Oct. 3rd when the band will perform halftime at the Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants football game at Lambeau Field. The season will close Oct. 25 with a stage show at Gantner Concert Hall.
