UW-Eau Claire Student Recognized
For Peace and Conflict Studies Paper

EAU CLAIRE - University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student John M. Zanetti II was one of four students honored for their paper presentations at the 18th annual student conference of the Wisconsin Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies held recently at St. Norbert College in De Pere. The award winners received a certificate and a $50 prize.

Zanetti, a sophomore from Minneapolis. Minn., is majoring in political science. He presented his paper "The Importance of Civil Society in Peacebuilding: The Haitian Experience."

The Wisconsin Institute, based at UW-Stevens Point, is a consortium of public and private institutions of higher learning in Wisconsin that are dedicated to encouraging and legitimizing teaching and research on the roots of violence, national and global security issues and all factors necessary for a just global peace.
