Political Science Faculty Available to Discuss John Kerry Ad Blitz
 MAILED:  May 4, 2004

Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry will begin a $25 million TV ad campaign today in Wisconsin and 18 other states where the race is considered a tossup. The 60-second ads emphasize Kerry’s military record.

The $25 million ad buy was the biggest single TV airtime purchase by a presidential candidate, according to the Kerry campaign.

Kerry’s ads will play in all TV markets in the 19 states where they are airing.

President Bush lost Wisconsin in 2000 to Democrat Al Gore by fewer than 6,000 votes.

Dr. Geoff Peterson, assistant professor of political science at UW-Eau Claire, is available today to discuss with reporters Kerry’s ad campaign and other topics related to the presidential election. You can reach Peterson at (715) 836-3641 or
