EAU CLAIRE — Area alumni from all University of Wisconsin System colleges and universities are invited to join the statewide celebration of UW Spirit Day on Friday, May 7.

“It will be a day devoted to showing that UW System grads are making a difference in communities and businesses throughout Wisconsin,” said John Bachmeier, UW-Eau Claire director of alumni relations. “In their offices, in their classrooms, and wherever UW System grads go in their communities on May 7, we encourage them to wear their school colors and let those around them know they received their education at a UW System college or university.”

In addition to wearing their school colors or clothing that includes their alma mater’s logo, UW System alumni are encouraged to wear Spirit Day “I am UW” buttons or stickers. Buttons can be obtained by calling the UW-Eau Claire alumni office at (715) 836-3266 or sending e-mail to alumni@uwec.edu. Stickers and additional information about UW Spirit Day can be found online.

The Web site also includes e-mail addresses for all UW System alumni associations, where graduates can request information on purchasing apparel from their alma maters. UW-Eau Claire alumni clothing can be purchased at the alumni online store.

UW Spirit day is sponsored by the recently formed UW Alumni Council, which includes representatives from all UW System alumni associations.
