Four UW-Eau Claire students will participate in a debate this week titled “Voodoo Economics? Kerry or Bush?”
The debate will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, in Davies Theatre. The event is part of Honors Week activities.
Traditionally, faculty members have participated in the Honors Week economics debate. For the first time, this year’s debate will include only student debaters. Dr. Duane Oyen, professor of economics, will moderate the debate.
Student participants representing the policies of Sen. John Kerry are Steven Wessling, a senior economics and mathematics major from Oconomowoc, and Brian Babbitt, a senior economics and management major from New Auburn.
Students representing the policies of George W. Bush are Chad Wade, a senior economics major from Endeavor, and Eric Ristau, a junior economics and political science major from Eleva.
The four students are all members of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the economics honor society.
