EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire department of music and theatre arts and Valleybrook Church will present UW-Eau Claire student Amber Anderson’s dance recital, “Clean Hands, Pure Heart,” at 8 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Valleybrook Church in Eau Claire. The recital is free and open to the public.
The concert will consist of tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, modern dance and spoken words used for praise and worship. Anderson, a senior from Burnsville, Minn., believes that movement has the ability to speak louder than words and hopes to connect with seekers and believers through dance and her own voice.
Anderson plans to become a pastor, but she wants to serve in a unique way and has launched Grace in Motion Ministries. She decided to do her required dance minor capstone concert in conjunction with Valleybrook Church because of a positive volunteer experience she had with the church during the Christmas season. Anderson said the experience of working hand in hand with church leaders and members has given her an incredible sense of peace with God’s leadership.
“Valleybrook has been so supportive, and they are just as excited as I am to see this project through,” Anderson said. “We want to connect the community with the Lord in unique ways.”
