Later this afternoon,
UW-Eau Claire nursing student Kelly Gruber will work with a group of area 4-H Club members to help them learn CPR. The group will use the School of Nursing mannequins as part of the workshop. The 4-H members also will spend time with UW-Eau Claire nursing graduate student Gunnar Larson and Sim-Man (the patient simulator in the School of Nursing). Larson will discuss and demonstrate some of the things nurses do with and/or for patients who are in a hospital. The training session will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, in the Nursing Building. For details, contact Elaine Wendt, associate dean of the School of Nursing, at (715) 836-5287.

Seniors from throughout western Wisconsin will gather on UW-Eau Claire’s campus Tuesday, March 23, for the 16th annual Senior Americans’ Day. This year’s event, called “Senior Swing,” will run from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at various locations in Davies Center. The day will feature speakers and a variety of hands-on workshops, with topics ranging from safe driving to travel to art to health and exercise. Participants will listen and dance to swing era music beginning around 2 p.m. Tuesday. For details, call Continuing Education at (715) 836-3636 or see the CE Web site.

Calendar Note
UW-Eau Claire students are on Spring Break this week. Classes will resume Monday, March 29. Administrative offices will be open during regular business hours throughout the break.
