UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education to Present
10th Annual Jail Health Care Conference

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education and the Wisconsin Public Health Association will present “Quality Correctional Health Care: A Team Approach” on May 10 and 11 at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells. The conference begins at 8 a.m. both days and concludes at 4 p.m. Monday, May 10, and at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11.

The conference is intended for nurses working in jail settings, jail/prison administrators, sheriffs, administrators of juvenile detention facilities, local health department staff/administrators, mental health professionals, social workers, prison health care staff and other correctional staff.

Keynote speakers are William C. Collins, noted correctional law attorney and co-founder and co-editor of the Correctional Law Reporter, who will present “Legal Issues: Medical Treatment in the Corrections Setting,” and Robert P. Vogt, founding partner of the Chicago law firm of Weldon-Linne & Vogt, who will present “Charting Your Defense.” Other conference topics include nursing assessments and legal issues in medical treatment, HIV, dental and administrative issues in corrections.

The conference fee is $65 per professional; $45 per student. The fee for registrations postmarked after April 17 will be $75. The fee includes 13.8 contact hours, lunch and break refreshments both days, and program materials.
