Senate Hosts Government Day

Several sessions planned for the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate’s
Government Day Tuesday, March 16, may be of interest to the local media.
- “UW-Eau Claire/Community Relations,” 10-11 a.m.,
Potawatomi Room, Davies Center. Eau Claire City Council members and students
will discuss the relationship between the campus and community.
- “The State Budget and its Effects on UW Students,”
1-2 p.m., Potawatomi Room, Davies Center. State Rep. Larry Balow will answer
questions about the state budget.
- “Neighborhood/Student Relations,” 2-3 p.m.,
Potawatomi Room, Davies Center. Marty Fisher-Blakely of the Randall Park Neighborhood
Association, Garry Sherwood of the Third Ward Neighborhood Association and
Student Senate leaders will talk about improving relationships among students
and their non-student neighbors.
- “City Council Candidate Forum,” 3-5:30 p.m.,
Schofield Auditorium. City council candidates will discuss their views regarding
issues facing the city.
- “It’s Your Government — Get Involved,”
7-8 p.m., room 100, Schneider Hall. Ed Thompson, former mayor of Tomah and
2002 Libertarian Party gubernatorial candidate, will give a keynote speech.
