16th Annual Adolescent and Families Conference
To be Held April 21-23 in Cable

 MAILED:  Feb. 13, 2004

EAU CLAIRE —“Challenging Youth, Families and Communities,” the 16th Annual Adolescent and Families Conference, will be held April 21-23 at Lakewoods Resort in Cable.

This conference is designed for school educators, social workers, counselors, youth workers, law enforcement personnel, parents and others interested in positive youth development. Michael McGowan and Dr. Thomas Peacock are conference keynote speakers.

The conference cost is $175 general registration; $160 early registration (postmark by March 31); $160 buddy registration (three or more registering together by April 12); and $25 for scholarship recipients. The registration deadline is April 12.

A limited number of scholarships have been provided with the financial support of Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College-Extension Program, CESA 10 and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Student Services, Prevention and Wellness Team. To apply or for more information, visit the Continuing Education Web site.

Participants who attend the entire conference for 13 hours of instruction can earn 1.3 CEUs. The Wisconsin DPI now accepts CEUs in place of DPI equivalency clock hours for certification purposes. Graduate credit option: one graduate credit has been applied for through UW-Eau Claire. Fellowship funds are available through CESA 10, 11, and 12 for AODA Educator Fellowship Grant Awards to offset the cost of graduate credit fees. Certified school staff under contract with a Wisconsin public or private school district are encouraged to request a fellowship application from their CESA AODA coordinator.
