UW-Eau Claire will host a Black History Month reception from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, in the Presidents Room of Davies Center.

The celebration will include a number of displays and posters honoring famous African-Americans. Examples of displays include:

• A circa 1960s Civil Rights quilt
• The African-American mosaic presented by the Library of Congress
• Posters featuring African-American artists, musicians, athletes, writers and social reformers
• A Black history quiz
• Profiles of famous African-Americans

The celebration is the first of a number of events and programs that will be hosted during February in honor of Black History Month.

Photographers and reporters are welcome to attend.
