UW-Eau Claire to Host Annual Event
Highlighting the Flute and Scottish Culture

EAU CLAIRE — Leading players, teachers, makers and scholars from the flute’s many traditions will present the “Boxwood Winter Weekend & Wisconsin in Scotland Alumni Celebration” in Eau Claire Jan. 23-25, 2004. Alumni of the Wisconsin in Scotland experience and others interested in Scottish culture will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in music, art and traditions at this unique event taking place on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The event offers options for various levels of participation, with many events open to the public as well as weekend participants.

Guest artists are Chris Norman, Rod Cameron, Christopher Krueger, Frank Claudy and Chuck Snowdon. Special events include a Baroque recital and Boxwood Ceili on Jan. 23 ($10); the Chris Normal Ensemble concert on Jan. 24 ($15 general public, $10 students); and a traditional Scottish Robert Burns dinner on Jan. 24 ($25).

“Boxwood Winter Weekend & Wisconsin in Scotland Alumni Celebration” prices are $250 for the entire event ($175 for Wisconsin in Scotland alumni; $95 for students) and $235 for Saturday only ($160 for Wisconsin in Scotland alumni; $80 for students).
