Gerontology Lecture Series Presentation
To Be Held Dec. 10 in Menomonie

 MAILED:  Dec. 4, 2003

EAU CLAIRE — The Center for Health and Aging Services Excellence at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, along with UW-Stout and the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie, will offer the December presentation “Osteoporosis: Don't Give Up an Inch” as part of the second annual Gerontology Lecture Series.

The lecture will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Red Cedar Medical Center-Mayo Health System in Menomonie.

The session will explore timely topics relating to the field of gerontology. Participants will learn about osteoporosis, a bone condition characterized by a decrease in mass that can result in bones that are more porous and more easily fractured than normal bones. Some risk factors of osteoporosis will be highlighted, as well as prevention of and treatment for the disease.

The discussion will be led by Dr. Al Foster from the department of internal medicine at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.

For more information, contact Meredith Wolf at or (715) 836-3543.

The Gerontology Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
