EAU CLAIRE — The Wisconsin Regional Teen Institute offers training and technical assistance opportunities for communities interested in and dedicated to engaging youth to make a difference. The Institute has separate sessions for middle school and senior high age youth. The 2004 dates and locations will be June 22-25 at UW-Richland, Richland Center; September 23-26, at Lutherdale, Elkhorn; and October 7-10, at Camp Jorn, Manitowish Waters.
The Institute includes a one-day skill building workshop for adult team leaders, a four-day teen Institute of youth development and teambuilding for teams of 8 to 10 youth and one adult, technical assistance in implementing a local plan, evaluative tools and qualitative research, and networking opportunities with other communities involved in youth engagement. Local teams focus on team building and discuss local issues. Each team will leave the institute with an action plan to affect change in their community.
