EAU CLAIRE — Fifteen bachelor of fine arts candidates at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will present a senior graphic design and studio art exhibition Dec. 4-14 in the Foster Gallery of Haas Fine Arts Center. A reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Foster Gallery.
Nine students will be exhibiting their graphic design work: Emily Czech, Oshkosh; Paul Her, Eau Claire; Jenna Kunkel, Waconia, Minn.; Tina Lindquist, Alexandria, Minn.; Matthew Rose, Neenah; Don Ross, Amery; Laurie Shevik, Rochester, Minn.; Kou Thao, Weston; and Anna Wojtanowicz, Rice, Minn.
Graphic design exhibits will include posters, logos, package designs, manuals, brochures, photographs, Web designs and a variety of other works.
“My presentation will be interactive; it will use a projector to display the work and a keyboard and mouse to navigate through it.” Ross said. “I enjoy web design because a concept can be carried out on different levels: visual, sequential, audio, animations, etc.”
Students exhibiting their work in studio art are Kristi Barrows, Eau Claire; Kristine Cummings, Madison; Melissa Grissman, Kaukauna; Abigail Holzschuh, Reedsburg; Heidi Rose, Butternut; and Jerome Vorndran, Baraboo.
Studio art exhibits will include acrylic paintings, drawings and illustrations in a variety of mixed media and ceramics and sculptures in porcelain, stoneware and wood.
“There is a good deal of patience and time that goes into each piece,” said Holzschuh, who will exhibit ceramics and sculptures. “I enjoy what I do and I think that shows in my work.”
Foster Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays and 1-4:30 p.m. weekends. For more information about gallery exhibits, call Tom Wagener at (715) 836-2328.
