Hmong Culture Program for Educators

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education will offer a one-credit graduate course on Hmong Culture from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 2-23, 2004, at the UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education Office, 210 Water Street.

The course is designed for educators, administrators, school counselors, psychologists, social workers and other education professionals who work with Hmong-American students and their families.

Instructor Pang Cher Vue created this course to provide education professionals with a parent’s perspective on strategies for working with Hmong students and to share practical ways to communicate with Hmong families. Students will learn and practice some basic Hmong language appropriate for classroom use.
