EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music
and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances
the week beginning Monday, Nov. 24. All events are free and open to the public.
Monday, Nov. 24:
- Tenor Rick Cedergren, a senior from Chisago, Minn.,
and bass-baritone Jesus Martinez, a senior from Watsonville, Calif., will
present a joint vocal recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas
Fine Arts Center. They will perform pieces by Brahms, Schumann, Faure, Mahler,
Mozart, Rossini and many more. Cedergren will perform a set with pieces by
UW-Eau Claire Alumnus Tom Anderson and seniors Justin Lundberg, Eau Claire,
and James Bungert, Rush City, Minn. Junior Margaret Hartzheim, Green Bay,
and senior Kristin Yost, Sisseton, S.D., will provide piano accompaniment,
and soprano Amanda DePons, a senior from New Berlin, will assist with vocals.
Tuesday, Nov. 25:
- The Bassoon Studio, under the direction of Kristine Fletcher,
senior lecturer of music, will present a Cane Mutiny recital at 5 p.m. in
Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The recital will open
with “Suite from the Royal Water Music” by G. F. Handel. The students
will continue with works by Daniel Dorff, Alec Wilder, Hans Posegga, and Alan
Ridout and will close with a work by junior Adam Boll, Fifield, titled “L’Chiam,
L’Chiam, Ole.”
