EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women’s Chorus and UW-Eau Claire Vocal Jazz will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 24 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Dr. Alan Rieck, assistant professor of music, Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff, associate professor of music, and senior Abby Fromader, Platteville, will lead this ensemble through this performance. The Women’s Chorus will open the concert with our national anthem. They will continue with works by Norman Luboff, Michael Este, Felix Mendelssohn, John Rutter and Ralph Vaughan Williams and will close their portion of the concert with a Spanish Folk Song by Richard Soto.
The Vocal Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Daniel Newman, associate professor of music, will open with “It Don’t Mean a Thing,” arranged by Anders Edenroth. They will continue their concert with “Waltz for Debbie,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Misty,” “On Broadway,” “Crazy” and many more.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or (800) 949-UWEC, are $3.75 for the general public; $2.75 for those 62 and older and children 17 and younger; and free for faculty, staff and students with a university ID.
