EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host a Gear Up Program Open House from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Presidents Room of Davies Center.

The Gear Up Program provides early college preparation and awareness services to students in low-income public school districts through tutorial centers, mentoring programs and student advocates who work with students through graduation and pre-college programs on campus. UW-Eau Claire was awarded its first Gear Up Grant from the U.S. Department of Education in 1999.

“The purpose of the open house is to showcase our program and provide information to the UW-Eau Claire community regarding the progress of the Gear Up program,” said Marge Hebbring, Gear Up Program director at UW-Eau Claire.
