UW-Eau Claire to Host
WIRSA State Workshop

EAU CLAIRE —The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host this year’s Wisconsin Intramural Recreational Sports Association state workshop Nov. 6-7. Events begin at 10 a.m. Thursday on upper campus and will include state and regional meetings, speakers, recreational activities and a tour of UW-Eau Claire’s recreational facilities.

Frank B. Ashley III, former president of the North American Society for Sports Management, will be the keynote speaker on both Thursday and Friday. A director’s round table discussion is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday. A session on alcohol alternative programming will be offered at the same time.

A state business meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a student business meeting for 2:30 p.m. Thursday and the region III meeting for 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Recreational activities available are bowling, billiards, Pilates, indoor rock climbing, swimming and free time to explore McPhee Physical Education Center, Hilltop Recreation Center and the Fitness Center. Participants will have the opportunity to tour university recreation at 2:30 p.m. Friday; advance registration is required.

Workshop registration fees vary for students and professionals and are also based on WIRSA membership status. Registration fees go up after Oct. 28.
