UW-Eau Claire
students planning careers as physicians can now connect with area doctors to learn more about what it’s like to work in the medical field. Joe Eaton, a senior pre-med student from Eau Claire, initiated the project. Eaton took his idea to Jeanne Skoug, director of Career Services at UW-Eau Claire. Together they developed the UW-Eau Claire Pre-Med Career Exploration and Service Partnership. So far 50 area physicians have agreed to provide information about their professions and perhaps be mentors to students or offer them job shadowing experiences. A $3,000 gift from Kerry and Daniel Kincaid to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation’s Promise of Excellence campaign helps pay the salary of a student coordinator. Joe Eaton and Jeanne Skoug are available to talk with you about the program. You can reach Eaton at (715) 836-9365 or, and Skoug at (715) 836-5358 or
