Rania Masri, a human rights advocate and environmental scientist, will be available to talk with the media before making a formal presentation Tuesday, Sept. 23, at UW-Eau Claire.
Masri will meet with reporters at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Tamarack Room of Davies Center. At 7 p.m., she’s slated to give a speech titled “Reconstructing or Deconstructing Iraq.”
Masri is an Arab-American and the director of the Southern Peace Research and Education Center at the Institute for Southern Studies in Durham, N.C.
The visit is part of two days of lectures and panel discussions regarding women’s perspectives on Iraq and the Middle East.
The Eau Claire Staff and Faculty for Peace and Justice at UW-Eau Claire will sponsor the events.
