The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire School of Nursing will offer free health evaluation clinics for infants and children up to age 15 on Sept. 22.
Health evaluations will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the UW-Eau Claire School of Nursing. Clinics will include a physical assessment, developmental screening, nutrition assessment, vision and hearing screening, and a review of the child’s health history.
Nursing graduate and undergraduate students will conduct the clinics under the supervision of nurse practitioners. Supervisors will be available to sign physical examination forms for preschool, day care, kindergarten or camp.
Students may follow the clinics with home visits in order to provide a summary of clinic findings and provide information on health and development topics of interest to families.
To create a positive health care experience, the clinics are paced to allow time for explanation of procedures to the child. Participants should allow two hours for a complete screening assessment.
Appointments are limited and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information or to make an appointment, call (715) 836-5515.
