Accounting and Finance Scholarships
Awarded at UW-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE - The department of accounting and finance at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire awarded the following scholarships during the spring 2003 semester.

Bjorn Simpson, Apple Valley, Minn., and Michael Brahmer, Rib Lake, were awarded $1,750 Wipfli, Ullrich, Bertelson Scholarships; Erin Torgerson, Caledonia, Minn., received a $500 Arthur Andersen Scholarship; Elizabeth Nuthals, Green Bay, was awarded a $500 Deloitte & Touche-Minneapolis Scholarship; Mathew Ingle, Arden Hills, Minn., received a $500 KPMG Peat Marwick-Minneapolis Office Scholarship; and Nicole Lindner, Greenwood, was awarded a $500 Ernst & Young-Minneapolis Office Scholarship. All of these scholarships are given to junior accounting majors on the basis of their academic achievement and interest in public accounting careers.

Senior Karin Reitz, Durand, was awarded a $750 Stienessen, Schlegel Scholarship; Seniors Jodi Webster, Rhinelander, and Kevin Ellis, Pine Island, Minn., each were awarded $500 Boulay, Heutmaker, Zibell & Co. Scholarships. These awards are given to accounting majors on the basis of their academic achievement and interest in public accounting careers.

Senior Monika Sondhi, Eau Claire, was awarded a $1,000 Craig A. Johnson Scholarship, given to an accounting major on the basis of academic achievement and interest in a public accounting or banking career.

Senior Jennifer Tews, Marshfield, was awarded a $500 Cargill Scholarship, given to an accounting major on the basis of academic achievement and interest in an accounting career.

Senior Joseph Pichler, Mondovi, was awarded a $1,000 Copeland, Buhl Scholarship, given to an accounting major on the basis of academic achievement, demonstration of leadership ability and interest in a public accounting career.

Beth Schumacher, Welch, Minn., was awarded a $500 Clifton Gunderson LLP Scholarship, given to a junior accounting major on the basis of academic achievement, demonstration of leadership ability and interest in a public accounting career.

Jason Weichert, Caledonia, Minn., was awarded a $1,000 Albert J. Colianni, Jr. Scholarship, given to a junior accounting major on the basis of academic achievement and involvement in university, college, department and/or community organizations, and demonstration of leadership ability.

Junior Laura Haas, Austin, Minn., was awarded a $500 Patricia E. Ozzello Scholarship, given to an accounting major on the basis of academic achievement, involvement in university, college, department and/or community organizations, and demonstration of leadership ability.

Junior Chad Roehl, Galesville, and senior Matthew Jegerlehner, Janesville, each received $500 3M Junior Scholarships, awarded on the basis of academic achievement, participation in university, school, department and/or community organizations, and desire to enter the accounting profession.

Senior Crystal Flick, Wisconsin Rapids, was awarded a $500 Packaging Corporation of America Scholarship, awarded on the basis of above-average academic achievement, participation in university, school, department and/or community organizations, and desire to enter the accounting profession (preferably industry).

Senior I-Chin Wang, Eau Claire, was awarded a $500 Jelinek, Metz, McDonald, Ltd. Scholarship, given to a student completing the junior year or beginning the senior year on the basis of academic achievement.

Senior Kerry Hager, Eau Claire, was awarded a $300 Heinrich-Dahlheimer Scholarship, given to an accounting major on the basis of academic achievement, demonstration of leadership ability and involvement in campus activities.
