Nine New UW-Eau Claire Students
Named Kopp Presidential Scholars

EAU CLAIRE -Nine students who will attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the fall have been named Kopp Presidential Scholars for the 2003-04 academic year.

The university awards Kopp Presidential scholarships to up to 10 new freshmen on the basis of academic achievement, national test scores, and school and community leadership and service. The non-renewable scholarship funds are made possible by a gift from Kopp Investment Advisors, Edina, Minn., to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Inc.

Kopp Presidential Scholars are:

Clifford Athorn, Minneapolis, Minn., a graduate of South High School and the son of Clifford and Elizabeth Athorn
Derrick Becker, Turtle Lake, a graduate of Turtle Lake High School and the son of Tom and Toni Becker
Lindsay Blader, Wautoma, a graduate of Wautoma High School and the daughter of Clark and Kari Blader
Caitlyn Christensen, Waukesha, a graduate of Waukesha West High School and the daughter of Fred and Colleen Christensen
Kathlyn Hotynski, Menasha, a graduate of Menasha High School and the daughter of Meg O'Brien and Joe Hotynski
Darren La Page, Brooklyn Park, Minn., a graduate of Park Center Senior High School and the son of Duane and Janet La Page
Rene L'Esperance, Tomahawk, a graduate of Tomahawk High School and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernie L'Esperance
Nicholas Mahr, Stanley, a graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School and the son of Randy and Maribeth Mahr
Hollie Moe, Fond du Lac, a graduate of Fond du Lac High School and the daughter of Michael and Tammie Moe
