UW-Eau Claire's three-week
Summer Session classes begin today and run through June 6.

The following are a couple of summer classes that start today
that might be of interest:
- "Major Themes in Literature: Baseball in
American Fiction." The class will explore
baseball's place in American fiction and culture, and why it inspires such
serious writing. Likely texts include Malamud's The Natural, Kinsella's Shoeless
Joe, Coover's The Universal Baseball Association and Karen Fowler's The Sweetheart
Season." John
Bushnell, associate professor of English, will teach the class. You can

- "Exploring Mind/Body Connections." Taught
by faculty in nursing and psychology, the class examines the interactions
among biological, psychological, educational, lifestyle, social and cultural
factors associated with health. Robert Tomlinson,
associate professor of psychology, and Susan
Moch, professor of family health nursing, teach
